Bus Attendant

 

 

Desirable Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency diploma is required.
• Ability to assist students with physical handicapping conditions.
• Volunteer and/or paid experience in working with handicapped students.
• Ability to work effectively with behavior challenges

 

Reports To:

• Transportation Supervisor and Bus Driver.
• Works closely with school nurse in monitoring students’ health concerns.

 

Goal:

• To enable student to participate safely in regular bus transportation.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists handicapped students getting on and off the bus.
• Assists in providing for the needs of the student during transportation.
• Assures the safe loading and unloading of students.
• Observes and monitors physical changes in students and accommodates students’ health needs.
• Provides supervision for the student and provides monitoring services.
• Operates and provides for the proper care and use of equipment as required.
• Assists on field trips and special event activities if requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
